EVERY disabled person has the right to freedom and
independence – which includes the right to travel – thanks to an
organization called Motability.
Established in 1978, Motability is a voluntary scheme and a
registered charity originally set up by the Government to help
disabled people to use their mobility allowances to get better
value for money when buying or hiring wheelchairs or cars.
Lifestyle Mazda is among the most experienced Motability
distributors in Sussex, with our own dedicated Motability
specialist, who works closely with disabled customers and their
local support organizations.
This experience gives Lifestyle Mazda a unique insight into
the problems that disabled customers face in obtaining practical
advice when selecting their new vehicle.
John Hearn is a full-time Motability specialist at Lifestyle
Mazda Gatwick and uses his experience to help customers select
the right financial packages to suit their needs and advise them
on the different types of vehicle adaptations available.
Helping with all the form filling – a necessary part of
applying for a car through Motability – is also a
much-appreciated part of the unhurried, friendly service we
offer.
John Hearn explains some of the ways in which disabled
drivers can obtain a car from Lifestyle Mazda using their
motability allowance “As well as the option of purchasing a new
or used car from us, vehicles can also be arranged for customers
on a hire or hire-purchase basis”. He advises. “But you need to
decide which method is best for you, because there are important
differences between the two schemes”.
